ever since being an art history student, i have been drawn to the artists of the 19th and early 20th century, especially the women. they were usually not well recognized and were over shadowed by their husbands/lovers. sonia delaunay is one of my favorites. she painted beautiful, colorful abstracts as well as designed fabric, clothing and costumes. there is an exhibition of her work at the cooper-hewitt in ny. it seems that prada fall '11 collection may have been inspired by delaunay.
