this is THE PICNIC, designed by marie turnor accessories, way before the jil sander vasari bag came along. supposedly, imitation is a form of flattery. it’s not, it’s a form of copying and really very annoying, especially when a large company like jil sander can advertise the hell out of it and everyone keeps sending me pictures :-(grrrrrrrr)

the big ikea bag is a handy carry-all but not so attractive

so i made one out of waxed cotton duck with leather handles and cotton webbing shoulder straps

the first one with embroidered handles. fun, but too expensive to make.
